February: On my mind

It´s been a while since the last monthly list but I still very much like the concept, both thinking of my own and reading other´s so here we go:

infrared-photography-paul-hoi-1Travel: Since the kids have been and still are home with a bad cold we have been watching a lot of movies. One of them – Narnia – is shot in New Zealand and it just reminds me again of how beautiful it looks. Really want to go there and to Australia. It sure is a long flight but the reward seems to be worth it a million times. When searching for travels I scrolled by these dreamy shots by Paul Hoi , capturing New Zealand with a camera modified for full spectrum infrared. You can see more here.

shoes febShoes: Following the winds of pink and on the wishlist for next week´s birthday are these ones.

Pic via.

flower febFlower: Longing for wild flowers…Walking, exploring and making my own bouquet.

Pic via.

suit 1Outfit: Yes please, suit up! A good suit with some colorful details. My pink sneakers would be great for this one too. I might go for looking like a big bubble gum all Spring long.

Pic via.

bedroom febBedroom: I often have to search for a really long time to even find pictures I haven´t seen before and today was one of those days when looking for bedroom inspiration. This one however was new to me and fits my craving for color really well.

Pic via.

kontor febOffice: This home office is from a home that was for sale a while ago and I always get cravings when seeing the use of books like this. Extra points for the desk in the middle of the room.

Pic via.

words febWords: Always invest time and energy in any relationship. Love these words as well though as true friendship is also about being there when times are low, confused or on wrong track. It can´t only be one person on that low end the whole time but as long as it goes both ways that´s an important thing too.

Pic via.

cake feb

Food: I´m not much for cakes but next week calls for at least a little celebration as my big…..4….0…is coming up. That plus our daughter´s 8th birthday a few days later. Cake x 2  it is!

Pic via.

Skärmavbild 2018-02-14 kl. 11.19.08Book: After cake comes eating healthy. Getting better at it by the year but still have a lot of improvements to make. Hopefully this book will lend a helping hand.

ljus febSustainable pick: It drives me crazy that it´s so hard to find candles that are environmental friendly and not damaging to your health. Every night I have far too many candles around the house and therefor it´s extra important to make sure that they are not the bad version. Things would be so much easier if there where no options of the ”paraffin” kind but if you look around it´s actually really hard to find ”stearin” or ”soy wax”candles in a normal grocery store. Most likely because they are more expensive. But in cases like this I would much rather pay more and use less to make sure it´s not a bad choice. Trendenser put together a good summary that you can read here on paraffin versus stearin (in Swedish but maybe use google translate if needed). In addition, since 2015 it´s become more difficult to recycle the metallic cup the candle comes in. Since then it´s prohibited to put it in the metall bin and it´s different for wherever you live where these go (sometimes a separate bin). Furthermore, you need to separate the little round holder from the cup. This because the holder is made of iron and the cup of aluminum and when being recycled doesn’t go in the same place. So you see, things could be made so much clearer and better. I realize there are probably many reasons & hurdles for it not being better already but please please let´s us see a better solution for this soon.

September: On my mind

A few days in October already but can´t leave the beautiful month of September without putting together a list so here we go:
Skärmavbild 2017-10-03 kl. 13.56.42

Travel: The only place I want to go to right now….our second home. Long walks by the sea, good food, sauna and after a very cold jump in the ocean you are as good as new.

Pic via my Instagram.

shoes septShoes: I should probably look for Wellies but all I want now are these leopard prints. Preferably without the detailing though.

Pic via.

flower septFlower: Heading for Fall most of the flowers entering my home right now are in this shade. Love going darker when the evenings are getting longer and longer. Trying to embrace what´s to come. Also perfect combined with milky whites.

Pic via.

outfit septOutfit: This coat – ”Annecy” by Totême is more than welcome to join my closet.

Pic via.

bedroom septBedroom: This bedroom view goes hand in hand with my wishes of spending time in the country house very soon. Warm inside, crispy and moody outside. Perfect combination.

Pic via.

office septOffice: Hello dream space. I´m actually finally moving into an office (not this one though) but more of that in a later post.

Pic via & by.

Skärmavbild 2017-10-03 kl. 13.15.59Words: Words can not describe the feelings and thoughts that probably go on in all of our heads from one devastating act in the world to another. Please stop the hatred and let the light in.

Pic via.

mat septFood: Anything with chanterelles is on my wishlist right now. I´m probably going to have to go get some for tonight already. One of my absolute favorites. This chanterelles soup with bacon and goat cheese toast looks delicious.

Pic & recipe via.

Skärmavbild 2017-10-03 kl. 13.34.03Series: OMG it´s not for sensitive people, makes you feel sick at times but it´s also really good. Based on Margaret Atwood´s novel of dystopia Gilead, Elisabeth Moss is brilliant in the role as ”Offred”.

Pic via.

sustainable septSustainable pick: From September 30th until October 8th Naturskyddsföreningen are running the initiative of ”The environmental friendly week”. This time focus is what kind of beauty products we use and what is in them; soap, shampoo, lotions etc etc. We need to get better to make sure that what we are using is actually truly environmentally friendly and Naturskyddsföreningen is trying to help for example by putting their label on products that have been approved through their guidelines & also by pushing companies and others to only use approved products. You can read more and participate in the campaign here.

music septMusic: This song has been with me since released and I don´t get tired of it. If you haven´t already listened to it – take a few minutes now. Lana Del Rey feat. Sean Lennon with ”Tomorrow Never Came” of the Lust for Life album.

August: On my mind

Skärmavbild 2017-08-28 kl. 09.45.28Travel: Recently back from four lovely weeks in France and feel super spoiled not being done with the summer activities quite yet. Soon heading for Mallorca with my sister and mother to celebrate our mother´s 70th birthday & we are all beyond excited. Currently reading through all great tips of Sanna Fischer Nordström featured on her blog and all I wish is that we had more days to spend.

Pic via

the vanessaShoes: These ”Vanessa” shoes in grey suede from Blankens have been sold out for a while but managed to get on the waiting list for next restock and therefore hopefully have these perfect Fall mini heels on my feet very soon.

Pic via

brudslöja

Flower: I used to find Baby´s breath too romantic as an everyday flower but through the last years I´ve changed my mind and now use it quite often. On my kitchen table right now are leftovers from one of last week´s photoshoots with Baby´s breath mixed with Eucalyptus.

Pic via.

suitOutfit: Could this be the Fall where I´m becoming a suit person? I really hope so. Inspired by the Mango campaign video as well, think it´s a really nice one. You can see it here

Pic via.

Pic via.

dialoguesBook: Finally bought ”Dialogues” by Frama in cooperation with Our Food Stories the other day and I can really recommend it. Not only inspirational in terms of beautiful pictures and settings but also filled with some really nice recipes and conversations with interesting creatives.

Pic via.

cottonmadeSustainable pick: This month´s choice is my friend Maria Soxbo of blog Husligheter´s cooperation with Cottonmade. Beautiful towels in different colors, here in Krita that goes straight on my wishlist. All made by eco cotton and with a GOTS certification. Well done, Maria! Looks great.

Pic via.

Music: Not knowing anything else about this band than that this one track is one of the most beautiful songs I´ve ever heard and it´s been on repeat all summer long. Bell X1 with ”The Upswing”. Go on Spotify as well to listen without the video….

May: On my mind

Oh how I love the month of May! Here we go with some goodies on my mind before heading off to June:

glampingTravel: I have to be honest, camping is not really my thing. I´m one of those silly persons who think a bear will eat you up as soon as your eyes are closed but now I´ve found something to look into! Terra Glamping, that would be something! In decorated tents with an incredible view of the ocean just along Highway 1 in California. Yep, goes right on the to do list.

Pic via discovery via Jeanne Damas with thanks.

valerieShoes: Really like these suede flats by Valerie & Heelow. Perfect with jeans and a basic top. By a quick look I could´t find them in my size though, hopefully they will restock soon.

Pic via.

peonies new
Flower:
Without doubt – and this will always be my flower choice for as long as the season is right – peonies. Along with lilacs of course but peonies are for the win as they last longer.

outfit mayOutfit: All I want, blue jeans and a striped shirt. Simple as that.

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2017-05-30 at 22.44.59Bedroom: Hello & yes please, If I´m not going glamping I just might do this instead.

Pic via. H&M Home.

office mayOffice: I don´t remember if it was here on the blog or on Instagram I posted this image the first time but I know I reacted to how many people then was equally taken by it as me. This space…yes. Many great things would come from there, I´m sure of it.

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2017-05-30 at 23.00.11Words: Nothing is as good as Instagram, blogs and what more. I´ve struggled a bit lately with things not at all going the way I planned but I´m not ready to give up. I know my destination and with a little luck and a lot of continuous hard work I´ll hopefully be on my way.

Pic via.

food mayFood: The grill is already constantly on and the love for prime veggies has never been bigger than in Springtime.

Pic via.

movie mayMovie: Not a new one but if you haven´t already seen it, please do. Such a moving story with an amazing cast and photography.

Pic via.

Layered_Recycle_imagebild_1-544x880Sustainable pick: Layered recently launched their Recycle collection described like this ”handwoven rugs made of recycled PET bottles. Melted bottles are used to produce a thread, which in turn is spun into yarn. The resulting handwoven rugs have the same look, texture and softness as traditional wool rugs

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2017-05-31 at 09.45.57Music: Jennie Abrahamson released her album Reverseries in January and the one track that has been played over and over again is the so beautiful ”Don´t Talk”.

March: On my mind

Can´t believe how quickly this month has passed by…Only made it through half of my to do -list, both at home at at work. Hopefully April will bring more of  Spring warmth and feelings. But before that, let´s go with the monthly list for March:

travel marchTravel: This month I was asked by my husband to block a weekend in April as he has planned a surprise trip. I´m probably one of the most curios people in the world so I´m trying to get him to reveal where we are going but he is super stubborn about it being a surprise so I will have to wait patiently. In the meantime me and my sister booked a trip for our mother and us as she just turned 70, so Mallorca – see you in September!

Pic via.
shoes marchShoes: Not only do I long for warmer days with lots of fresh fruit but apparently I have the need for dito on my feet too. These cuties are new in my wardrobe (that I have finally cleaned out and organized, wihooo!!)

Pic via.

flower marchFlower: My allergy is on a high at the moment so I´ll take that as proof Spring and more colours in nature are to come. Finally! Our magnolia tree just had one or two flowers when we moved in ten years ago but now it´s happily exploding every Spring and I can´t wait to see how many flowers this year will bring.

Pic via.

outfit marchOutfit: Not only do I crave that bike but that outfit looks just perfect to start of Spring with too.

Pic via.

bedroom marchBedroom: Wouldn’t mind to meet April in a bedroom like this with open windows and no fuzz.

Pic via.

office marchOffice: That floor, big windows, Essay table by Cecilie Manz and Series 7 chair by Arne Jacobsen from Fritz Hansen – yes please.

Pic via. Photo by.

words marchWords: Simple beauty.

Pic via.

food marchFood: How lovely do these look? Found these amazing coconut acai bowls over at  Design Love Fest. Wish all meals could look this pretty.

Pic by.

series marchSeries: No surprise that just the scenery of this serie keeps me hooked but the cast and plot is so good too. Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Swedish Alexander Skarsgård who is actually doing a really great job here. If you haven´t already seen it, perfect for this weekend!

Pic via.

TheSustainableSociety-loggaSustainable pick: My friend Maria Soxbo of interior blog Husligheter has always a million exciting projects going on and this one is no exception. Today she together with 11 other bloggers are launching initiative ”The Sustainable Society”. Together these blogs will pick one subject per month to write about within the subject of sustainability. Love it!! Really looking forward to follow, learn more and see different angles of the same theme.

Pic and info via. More info here.

bloodjungle-39515156--1024x1024Music: Track ”Hands” & ”Air is free” have been recurring tunes in my head since the release in February. This weekend I´ll give the whole album a good listen to see if it all has the same effect.

Pic via and more listening here.

February: On my mind

As many times before I didn´t have time to finish the list for current month before the next one starts but since I´ve had this as a draft for two weeks now I´m still going to call it the list for February instead of March. Here we go:

tokyoTravel: I´ve always wanted to go to Tokyo but still that dream hasn´t come  through. My sister and her husband took a weekend trip there some time ago and I don´t know why I forget that it is actually quite easily done. Something to dream about for the future.

Pic via.

shoes febShoes: How pretty are these green beauties? Would so love to welcome Spring in the perfect emerald green. This kind of shoe seems to be on several minds at the moment, see other versions here and here.

Pic via.

flower febFlower: Just as I thought our lemon tree had given up completely and had bought a new one, the old one showed me it was too soon to give up on it. I apologize old friend, I will pay close attention and treat you with the care you deserve from now on. Hopefully we will have some more rounds together.

Pic via.

outfit febOutfit: Not too exciting but still on the hunt for the perfect jeans and I so want to find a pair of 501 in my size with a light washing. A perfect way to say ”hello Spring”.

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2017-03-06 at 08.56.35Outdoor space: I´m so ready to go to the summer house, take the first dip of the year in the ocean, a hot sauna, let the shoulders down and breathe some fresh air but that will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer.

Pic via.

office feb
Office:
I really like this home office with it´s color additions and design classics. It´s actually the home of Kourtney Kardashian, featured in Architectural Digest decorated by interior designer Martyn Laurence Bullard.

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2017-03-06 at 09.19.25Words: It´s been three crazy weeks and it doesn´t seem like there is a break coming anytime soon. Super grateful for having lots of work of course but I also need to remind myself not to stress too much but to stay focused on the task without a racing heart and a non-sleeping mind. I need to stay calm to be productive at least to enjoy it properly. I don´t like to rush through things without staying in the moment so these words will be my continuous mantra.

Pic via.

food febFood: When being out on production starting super early and ending late at night, the way of eating tends to suffer a bit. You don´t eat enough and when you finally get the chance to do so you are so excited to see food so anything goes instead of eating smart and healthy. At least that´s the case for me. I only have prep work and no photo shoots this week so hopefully that will result in better choices and more clean eating. Would´t mind trying this Kale detox salad with Pesto to start with. See the full recipe here.

Pic via.

JRvol couv03'.inddBook: In the current issue of Styleby magazine founder Elin Kling has this book of French interior designer Jean Royère on her list and I´m hoping that it will be in my home soon as well. If you are not familiar with his work you can see some here. I ran past a pair of his  Oeuf chair in white faux fur wool in perfect condition the other day and my daughter was eager to have one for her room….great but expensive taste in that 7-year old!

Pic via.

sus febSustainable pick: This months choice is Ikea´s new matte, anthracite grey kitchen ”Kungsbacka” designed by design studio Form Us With Love. The first kitchen fronts line, entirely made from recycled plastic bottles and reclaimed industrial wood, hurray! Read more about the project here.

Pic via.

My Song LP sleeve.inddMusic: Listening to Sophie Zelmani brings back a lot of memories as that was one of the most played albums (Precious Burden) in my loft while living in Paris back in 97-98 (such a long time ago, gah!!).  Her new one was released March 3rd and this week will definitely have ”My Song” and the other tracks as soundtrack. Fingers crossed it fulfills what I´m hoping for.

January: On my mind

Trying to shake myself out of holiday mood with a list for January. A good fresh start but also a continuation of many things already in the process. I really do like January as it gives you a reminder to evaluate and consider possible changes. Not that that isn´t something for all months of the year but you know – resolutions and all. I try not to give too many of those as it mostly causes unnecessary pressure on my end (always put a lot of pressure on myself anyway) but like to summarize good and bad of the past year and put some hopes and goals for the upcoming one. This list is not about that but at least a mood for January. Here we go:

travel JanuaryTravel: Since I just spent a month long holiday in Los Angeles it almost feel presumptuous thinking of more but of course…one can always dream…We have friends who are currently traveling parts of the world and the other day on Instagram this amazing place turned up – Las Coloradas in Mexico. The pink lakes look almost too amazing for being true (but they sure are) and are only about a foot deep. Would love to see this live! Not to mention using it as location…

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2017-01-18 at 02.48.20Shoes: It´s unfortunately not going to happen but found these shoes via one of my absolut favorite bloggers – Elin  Renck – and am sure that these babies would look good on me too…As I´m not wearing much more than black and then some black, accessories like these are gold. Literally speaking. Soon on sale please?

Pic via.

flower jan
Flower:
Of course it has to be tulips for what they represent with upcoming Spring and the beauty of all different colours, shapes and sizes. I only wish that they would last longer…

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2017-01-18 at 03.12.39Outfit: As I´m now back home one of the first things I will do is to clean out and organize my closet. Mostly it´s about realizing I´m not the size I once used to be and instead of being ashamed I will embrace new facts until or if even when things would turn back in time. Want to feel comfortable where I am now and that is certainly not in things that are too tight, short or young for my age if there is even such a thing (I vote yes). Probably not aloud to say so but nevertheless, no-one looks good in shorts aspiring for thong or see-through clothes leaving nothing for imagination. What I need right now is just a classic white shirt that works for Monday as well as Saturday night.

Pic via.

amangariOutdoor space: The outdoor space has without doubt for the past month been the terrace on our roof with views over the Pacific one way and the mountains on the other but as some of you have seen already on the blog and Insta this place really got to me and I really hope to experience it someday. Turns out at least two of my friends have already been there and both witnessed the pictures tell no lie. See more here and here.

Pic via.

office januaryOffice: I´m desperately trying to find the source for this image as I know it so well but currently have a holiday head and can´t find it. What I love is not the minimalism, could never do that no matter how much I tried, but the light and the choice of materials I really like. Let´s hope that 2017 will be the year I´ll find my dream office.

Pic via

words januaryWords: Can we just agree on that? We don´t always get there but we can at least try. If it´s helping others or achieving something for ourselves. All we can do is try and try and try.

Pic via.

food januaryFood: As much as I love cooking I´ve never tried making Ramen and oh how I love it. One of many things on the to-do-list.

Pic via.

book jan
Book:
In a big fan of architect Josephs Dirand´s work so am really looking forward to this piece being released in March 2017.

Pic via.

sustainable janSustainable pick: Velour is the first jeans producing brand that fulfills all criteria for a ”Svanen” approval. Svanen is one of the most difficult environmental friendly labels to get within the Nordics so it´s great to see that even in this specific field there are ways to achive sustainability. I´m definitely a jeans girl myself so now all I hope is for Velour to start producing jeans for women as well and for other brands to follow their lead.

Pic via.

music januaryMusic: I´ve been listening to a lot of music while on holiday. I always do but when having more time I love going through what I´ve missed. Veronica Maggio (who by the way won Best Dressed Woman of the Year in Sweden at Elle Fashion Awards the other night) is certainly not unknown but this track – Gjord av sten –  I had passed me by and I have not stopped listening to it since I found it a few days ago. Another strong Swedish woman is Seinabo Sey and now latest with this acoustic version Easy. Two very beautiful and moving songs.

November: On my mind

Yes I know, 8 days of December have already passed by but didn´t want to miss out on a list for November so here we go:

travel novTravel: This magical camp is not where I´m spending my time at the moment but I am in South Africa (in Cape Town) for a week of work and am super excited as I´ve never been here before. The image is from Singita Lebombo in South Africa, at the border with Mozambique. I would love to travel Africa more and really enjoyed Condé Nasts guide to the best safari lodges and camps. Photo by Adrian Leuw.

shoes novemberShoes: I don´t know if it´s being closer to a more exotic animal life but I just bought these shoes and love them!! Can pick up any outfit and any day.

Pic via. flower nov

Flower: I used to not like Amaryllis at all but that has changed over the past years and now I love sprinkling them all over our home counting down the days before Christmas.

Pic via.

outfit novOutfit: All of a sudden I had to think about putting this pale piece of body in summer clothes again and I just missed a similar dress as they ran out of it. Such a shame as that would have been the perfect work outfit for me.

Pic via.

outdoor space nov

Outdoor space: I unfortunately  can´t show you pics of the amazing location we are shooting at but like in this image it has this incredible sense of no walls between indoor and outdoors, topped with amazing views over Cape Town and the ocean. The advantage of living in a climate warmer than ours.

Pic via. Styling Anna Mårselius chez Daniel Lindström

Office: In the current issue of Residence Magazine the home of Fashion editor Daniel Lindström is featured. I had the pleasure of styling that job and fell in love with his home office space. I love books and what they add to an interior and this was certainly no exception. Would love to sit there reading and writing.

Pic by Erik Lefvander.

words novWords: Those words have been in my head for some weeks as I´m struggling so hard with fear of flying and leaving the kids back home. But I´ve made the decision not to let my fears limit my life and here I am. Super happy about this experience of work yet anxious of getting on a plane in a few hours again. Some day I´m hoping to reach a better balance where fear is no longer an issue.

Pic via.

food novFood: As much as I enjoy a slice of summer right now I can´t wait to get back to my family for some traditional pre-Christmas celebrations before heading of to some more adventures.

Pic via.

book novBook: This must be the most blog mentioned book of the month and I´m no different. Definitely on my wishlist.

Pic via.

gift novSustainable pick: It´s Christmas soon and with that comes Christmas gifts. We are trying to clean out all of the toys, clothes and books that the kids are not using any more to pass that forward to someone who will treasure them more.  Most things still look brand new and deserves more rounds of fun. And re-gifting, I think that is great! Old gifts that where not right for you, pass it forward instead of only buying new stuff.

Pic via.

music novMusic: I´m having some difficulties with this category this month as I´m currently sitting in the lobby of the hotel while they are vacuuming the floors and are playing crazy high speed lounge jazz. Not much of inspiration to say the least. Christmas music old style has been the only thing I´ve been listening to for the last month as I have really been in a Christmas mood but this cutie from People People was just added to my wishlist when seeing it over at Hanna Wessman.

Pic via.

October: On my mind

I know we have already entered November so it´s a little bit late but could´t resist starting the weekend with a list for October anyway. Happy weekend everybody!

ett hemTravel: Right now I have absolutely no desire to go abroad but would´t at all mind a staycation here in Stockholm. Just me and my love for at least one night.

Pic via.

burgundy healsShoes: I really want a pair of burgundy heals (not that I wear heals that often, especially not in bed, but still enjoy dreaming about it). Those heals look super thin and will probably cause a fracture but oh how they would make any outfit more fun.

Pic via.

flowers octFlower: Hortensia has been on the list before but I really love this flower and how changing it´s color can add to every season.

Pic via.

outfit octoberOutfit: Big knits and good hair, yes please.

Pic via.

outdoor octoberOutdoor space: Since travel above offered a bedroom view I´m changing the bedroom category for outdoor space instead. This is the way I want to spend the days of Fall.

Pic via.

Screen Shot 2016-11-04 at 09.59.11Office: Last week I did a photo shoot for Residence Magazine in a home with an amazing home office to be inspired by. I love working for them as it always takes me to amazing places. The issue will be out next month and until then the colours and textures of this space will stay in my mind. It´s an office corner of a bedroom of Mauritzhof Hotel in Münster.

Pic via.

words octoberWords: Hopefully you are too? To dream is also planning, right? No fear.

Pic via.

food octoberFood: I´ve only made something with pumpkin once and that was cooking pumpkin soup when living in Paris 18 years ago so I can´t really say it´s one of my signature ingredients. But yesterday I had the most amazing warm pumpkin, sage & almond dish and now all I want to do is try something similar again. This recipe of Maple roasted pumpkin with chili and feta looked really good, maybe something for the weekend?

Pic and recipe via.

Series: Have always had a crush on Sarah Jessica Parker, from Girls Just Wanna Have Fun to classic Sex & The City. So needless to say I was really happy to see her star in the new series ”Divorce” on HBO, so good.

susstainable octSustainable pick: How come all products always empty at the same time? They are not at least by me used in the same way, the bottles are of different sizes and so on but still it seems they follow the same trend. This time I want to find some new products as I have always used the same and found Moonsun over at Make It Last. Good reviews, organic and with high quality ingredients. Please make me glow!

Music: Solange´s album ”A Seat at the Table” was released in September and has been the soundtrack of my work days since then. One of those albums that put you in a good and calm mood.
