At home with Kelly Wearstler

kelly 1 kelly 2 kelly 3 kelly 4 kelly 5 kelly 6 kelly 7 kelly 8The weekend home of interior designer Kelly Wearstler is as bold her designs. Situated in Malibu, California with incredible views over the Pacific Ocean this place is really something extra. When in LA the last time I visited Kelly Wearstler´s flagship boutique on 8440 Melrose Avenue and I spent a really long time in there just amazed by all of her designs. Often it´s far from what my imagination would even come up with and there where so many objects that I just fell in love with and wanted to take home. In addition, the staff in her store where so lovely and interesting to talk to. Don´t miss out if in LA.

That´s what happens sometimes in this job but it always works out in the end anyway. Thanks so much for having us, Daniel! It was such a pleasure.

In the current issue of Residence Magazine this piece is out that I did together with photographer Erik Lefvander as my last job before heading on summer holiday. It´s the home of architect Johnny Andersson of Jordens Arkitekter (who also did this amazing space by the way). Some behind the scenes from the shoot – when picking up all the props I the whole time heard that my car engine did not sound as it use to. I barely got out of there with a fully packed car and just as I parked next to our house it died…Luckily after the shoot and not before. And for the image with the jeans hanging on that wall, I really wanted an extra pair and there where none available. So I want to say an extra thanks to photographer Erik that took one for the team taking this pic with no pants on and offering the best laugh of the day!

daniella 1 daniella 2 daniella 3 daniella 4 daniella 5 daniella 6In addition to being a never ending source of inspiration, stylist & photographer Daniella Witte also has an incredible home. I just love her dining room that she so boldly has painted in black and the outdoor area is just amazing. That white wall surrounding it all gives it a feel of being way far south than Sweden and I would just love to spend mornings, days and evenings on a terrace like that.

In the greenhouse

greenhouse 1 greenhouse 2 greenhouse 3Slow summer tempo here and not very much blogging. More on Instagram if you would like to follow but I´ll probably be here every now and then too. Still reading my favorite blogs before going to sleep or while being awake during super light summer nights. I know using your phone is not supposed to be good when in or before bed but sometimes when it´s difficult to sleep this occupation is a very good friend. One of the pages I never miss is the one of Krickelin. I can´t believe I discovered her blog so late, probably just about a year ago. If you haven´t read it I can highly recommend it. Great photography and the way she writes is just with so much flow and with lots of personality. Currently Kristin (writer of Krickelin)  and her family are working on a greenhouse in their garden and it looks just like the perfect summer spot. Green inspiration to dream about when finally falling asleep…

Pics and inspiration by Krickelin with thanks.
