Golden
Warming up the blog again after an absence far too long with the wonderful ”Golden” collection by Australian stylist Sarah Ellison. If I could have the house in addition that would be great too. For more of her work and previous collections of furniture and tiles, see here.

Moreno California
Some pics from yesterday´s lovely breakfast for Moreno California. Congratulations and good luck to my sweet friend Jennie Hammar to the launch of her new brand starting with three scented candles: Silverlake, Point Dume (my favorite) and Joshua Tree. Having creative friends is the best inspiration & an added value is that my home now smells absolutely wonderful. You can see more here and buy the candles here. Good luck Jennie!

Window on the lake
Only steps away from the shores of Lac Plaisant in the Mauricie region of Canada, this house looks as if it could easily have been located in Sweden as well. Oh how I wish we could higher the ceiling in our summer house like this as well. We have a similar solution in the dining room but the older part of the house has a lower ceiling and it would make such a difference to get it higher as well. One day…

February: On my mind
It´s been a while since the last monthly list but I still very much like the concept, both thinking of my own and reading other´s so here we go:
Travel: Since the kids have been and still are home with a bad cold we have been watching a lot of movies. One of them – Narnia – is shot in New Zealand and it just reminds me again of how beautiful it looks. Really want to go there and to Australia. It sure is a long flight but the reward seems to be worth it a million times. When searching for travels I scrolled by these dreamy shots by Paul Hoi , capturing New Zealand with a camera modified for full spectrum infrared. You can see more here.

Shoes: Following the winds of pink and on the wishlist for next week´s birthday are these ones.

Flower: Longing for wild flowers…Walking, exploring and making my own bouquet.

Outfit: Yes please, suit up! A good suit with some colorful details. My pink sneakers would be great for this one too. I might go for looking like a big bubble gum all Spring long.

Bedroom: I often have to search for a really long time to even find pictures I haven´t seen before and today was one of those days when looking for bedroom inspiration. This one however was new to me and fits my craving for color really well.

Office: This home office is from a home that was for sale a while ago and I always get cravings when seeing the use of books like this. Extra points for the desk in the middle of the room.

Words: Always invest time and energy in any relationship. Love these words as well though as true friendship is also about being there when times are low, confused or on wrong track. It can´t only be one person on that low end the whole time but as long as it goes both ways that´s an important thing too.

Food: I´m not much for cakes but next week calls for at least a little celebration as my big…..4….0…is coming up. That plus our daughter´s 8th birthday a few days later. Cake x 2 it is!

Book: After cake comes eating healthy. Getting better at it by the year but still have a lot of improvements to make. Hopefully this book will lend a helping hand.

Sustainable pick: It drives me crazy that it´s so hard to find candles that are environmental friendly and not damaging to your health. Every night I have far too many candles around the house and therefor it´s extra important to make sure that they are not the bad version. Things would be so much easier if there where no options of the ”paraffin” kind but if you look around it´s actually really hard to find ”stearin” or ”soy wax”candles in a normal grocery store. Most likely because they are more expensive. But in cases like this I would much rather pay more and use less to make sure it´s not a bad choice. Trendenser put together a good summary that you can read here on paraffin versus stearin (in Swedish but maybe use google translate if needed). In addition, since 2015 it´s become more difficult to recycle the metallic cup the candle comes in. Since then it´s prohibited to put it in the metall bin and it´s different for wherever you live where these go (sometimes a separate bin). Furthermore, you need to separate the little round holder from the cup. This because the holder is made of iron and the cup of aluminum and when being recycled doesn’t go in the same place. So you see, things could be made so much clearer and better. I realize there are probably many reasons & hurdles for it not being better already but please please let´s us see a better solution for this soon.

Music: Have just started listening to Sarah Klang´s debut album released Feb 9th and it sounds really promising. You can check it out here.

Cross blanket
I have treated myself to a little pre-birthday gift and it´s a classic that I´ve wanted for a long time but not until now have bought. It´s the Pia Wallén Cross Blanket in the color ”camel”. Seeing these pictures makes me even more sure it´s going to be so perfect on our bed.

In love with the work of multi-media sculptor Rowan Mersh. These textures give me goose bumps. Dear Santa…
Longing for…
I know, it´s really too soon to already be longing for Christmas but this is as excited as I have been about it in a really long time. We have spent the past years celebrating Xmas with friends in LA and as lovely and special that has been it´s of course very different from being back home with snow, the big family and all traditions. When we realized our youngest doesn’t even remember what it´s like to celebrate Christmas back home we decided to leave after Christmas this year instead. I´m so happy about that and super excited to get all the decorations up, plan and cook food for days, getting the Christmas tree, making the Gingerbread house and making decorations with the kids. I really do hope we get some proper snow so that it will be a white and crispy one. Can´t wait to go all in!

Rio Rio Rio….
On the forever wishlist is table Rio 529 from Cassina by Charlotte Perriand. It´s constantly turning up here and there and every time my heart makes an extra beat. Would without doubt go with Natural Oak and Vienna Straw.
You can for example buy it here. Pic 2 via Residence Magazine, photo by Erik Lefvander & styling by Alexandra Ogonowski.
