Most mornings when being in Los Angeles I go for a run or a walk. Not as much for the exercise as for the love of looking at all the houses and gardens and all of their different looks and souls. As much as I love Scandinavian design and working as an interior stylist mostly featuring those influences, I´m sometimes a bit bored with the trends making all homes look almost the same (and before anyone says anything, I know I´m a part of creating those trends so it´s partly my fault too). The trend right now in Sweden is so beautiful, classic and with the perfect natural color tones in combination with beautiful wood and art pieces. And I love it. And I´m tired of it too…I´ve never been one of wanting just one thing in terms of decor and styling. I like mixing and it often starts with the love for one specific object and then creating a story from that specific piece.
Anyhow – the bedroom featured here I found on American lifestyle site The Effortless Chic and I think it very well captures what I in addition to Scandinavian style love too (along with several other things of course). It´s the warmth, the colors, the personal touch and the effortless cosiness. What I fell in love with at first sight was the beautiful vintage rug that seems to have angled corners. It´s nice with a little variation, right?

When someone started to get bored with own creation it means that person will try to give something new and better than the present.
