Memories through props

Tucked her in and started the race of organizing and unpacking all props that are always on the move from and back to their shelves. Most of the time I don´t even have time to unpack before I need them again but a goal for 2017 is to get things more sorted for an easy overview. Many of the props have been around for a long time and bring back so many memories with them. Several things in these images are still with me and have been used for so many jobs over the years. I have trouble parting from things that I love and tend to keep them longer than planned but as long as there is space on the shelves…This job was actually one of the very first I ever did. A photo shoot here at home together with photographer Kristofer Johnsson who I so enjoy to work with. I had made that 1×1 m plate the day before putting white tiles on one side and leaving the other in it´s natural costume of wood.

Just a few notes of some of the things in the images:

In pic 1: the gold mayfly necklace is a gift from my sister, the green vase I got from Lotta (Agaton) when cleaning out her props shelves one day on my internship with her 6 years ago, the Hermès soap I got from a close friend, that big pair of scissors looks even bigger in real life and I had rented it especially for this shoot.

In pic 2: The grey bowl has been with me for many years and we bought it in NY. We actually bought two, one for us and one for my parents. One of those gifts that are not really fit to go in your suitcase but luckily we made it. Several of the small glass bottles and the grey little box, again gifts from Lotta´s props shelves. The pink beauty I can´t remember the name of but I love how it looks like a small Japanese cherry tree in blossom.

In pic 3: That basket from Granit has been with me for so many jobs, a loyal friend. The three black stones I got from our friend´s daughter who had collected them for me as she knew what my job is about and was hoping to contribute. So sweet and thoughtful. The Maison Margiela Russian Dolls I had wished for for a really long time when receiving them as a gift and love them equally much today.

In pic 4: This one I actually made with the hope to send it to Granit so that they could see my work and hopefully would want to work with me. Back then I did many jobs without having an assignment but did pictures with photographers hoping for someone to want to pick up on them in the end. Funnily enough Granit sent a reply saying they had just done images very similar to this so that was that. But I had to start trying somewhere, right? The first two images where later published in Elle Decoration DK. So all turned out good in the end and all of these memories I keep close to my heart still today.
